PTS WITH SELRES OPTION

Effective 1 October 2009, The PTS appliction system will give Sailors the option to obtain quotas for affiliation/enlistment in the Selected Reserves(SELRES). This allows Active duty Sailors and FTS Sailors to apply for both Active Duty/FTS quota and SELRES quota in the same application. SELRES Zones differ from Active Duty zones and are based on Pay Entry Base Date (PEBD)(PTS will determine the applicable zone) AS INDICATED:

A. ZONE A (0-8 YEARS)
B. ZONE B (8-14 YEARS)

Sailors that are 12 month from the end of their complete contract (EAOS and SEAOS match) can apply until they are 3 months from their end of obligated service. Those Sailors who currently have a final Active Duty/FTS quota can still apply for a SELRES quota. Those Sailors who are within 3 month of seperating are not authorized to submit SELRES applications.

Policy note: PACT/GENDET Sailors: Effective 01 OCT 09, PACT/GENDET Sailors are not longer authorized to submit PTS applications, they must utilize the REGA program in FLeet RIDE to request "A" schools assignments, Navy Wide Advancement Exam, Direct Designation and Change of Career Path quotas.
